The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCO), is set to power the Kintampo-Bolgatanga section of the 330kV Kumasi-Bolgatanga transmission line project on April 27, 2019.
In a press statement signed by the head of public affairs unit, Joana Ohui Tetteh advised residents of the communities along the social transmission corridor to stay away from all transmission facilities as far as the operation is concerned.
Ths statement also added that “any unauthorized contact with the facilities compromise the safety and lives of such persons”.
The Kintampo-Bolgatanga line project was launched for tender by GRIDCO in the year 2012 and is now fully set to be energized to begin operation fully.

Tema, April 26, 2019 –
Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) announces for the
information of the general public that the Kintampo Bolgatanga section of the 330kv
Kumasi-Bolgatanga Transmission Line Project will be energized (i.e. live electricity would
run through the lines for the first time) on Saturday, April 27, 2019.
The public, especially inhabitants of the communities along this transmission line corridor
are therefore, advised that the 330kV transmission line will be in an energized state from
the said date.
The public is hereby advised to stay away from all transmission facilities including the
pylons along the corridor, as any unauthorized contact with the facilities could
compromise the safety and life of such persons.
